…still be working on this same novel.
I can’t believe I’m not done yet. I don’t even want to think a bout how many years it’s been.
Louis Lamour says, “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on”. Well, the faucet is on, and this is what’s coming out – another blog post.
It’s hard to write another page of a book you know you wouldn’t actually read in it’s current state.
It has also been said that you shouldn’t wait for inspiration. Start writing, and the inspiration will follow. Well, that is a lie.
I have been writing this novel for a couple of years, easily, and Inspiration has gladly kept its distance.
Friends and family say, “Let me look at it for you, put a fresh set of eyes on it, and I’ll tell you what I think about it.” Well, yes, but I already know what they will think. Boring characters. Not enough action. Weak second act. Lacks internal logic. This story has been done before.
I don’t need that.
I just want to see the end of this novel. I want write “The End” and know that it is.
